2015 saw the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. As part of many events to commemorate the occasion, the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust opened a new visitor and education centre at Capel-le-Ferne, Kent, better known as ‘The Wing’. We were commissioned by Graham English & Co and Nev Howell Production to assist in the creation of ‘The Scramble Experience’, a high-tech audio-visual extravaganza designed to tell the tale of the Battle of Britain and the men who fought it.
Using archive photographs, our technical know-how and some background material, we created 3d textured models of four of the most iconic aircraft of WWII – the Spitfire, Hurricane, Dornier and Messerschmitt. Given that there are no surviving Dornier aircraft in existence, this one in particular was a real challenge to get right!
Nev Howell Production utilised our 3d assets to bring the Battle of Britain fight scenes to life with real life film footage and 3d animation. This is now one of the centre piece attractions at the Visitor Centre.
